Professional Experience

Ms. Gerber focuses on achieving the policy, incentive and infrastructure changes required to improve healthcare globally. Her work and experience spans six continents and includes a concentration in the Pacific Rim. Within the United States, Ms. Gerber is a leader in driving collaboration between the public and private sectors in the healthcare industry, particularly in the arena of health information technology. She is an experienced advocate, policy expert, coalition-builder and innovative communicator with a proven track record of achieving bipartisan legislative, regulatory and public policy change and identifying the funding and cooperation needed for better healthcare worldwide. Ms. Gerber’s key areas of expertise include domestic and international health institutions and policy, public health and informatics, electronic and personal health records, healthcare quality and technology legislation, incentivizing patient-centered healthcare, regional health information exchange and data privacy and security.

Prior to joining Manatt, Ms. Gerber served as the Vice President for International Programs and Public Policy at the eHealth Initiative (eHI) and Foundation for eHealth Initiative. There, she spearheaded education and advocacy efforts and managed donor relations and fundraising. Ms. Gerber was also responsible for directing the eHI Leadership in Global Health Technology (LIGHT) Initiative. This program facilitates multi-stakeholder dialogue and information-sharing across continents on the development of electronically enabled healthcare and public health tools.

Before her time at eHI, Ms. Gerber worked as an Account Director for Signova Health Affairs, where she developed health policy content and media strategy and outreach for MedUnite, a real-time transactional technology advanced by America’s largest health plans. She also served as Manager of Public Policy for the Washington Business Group on Health (WBGH), acting as a liaison between member companies, Congress and the Clinton Administration and as a government affairs advocate for Humana Inc.

Ms. Gerber has spoken around the globe and is recognized in both the national and international community as a foremost expert on healthcare innovation and policy. She has conducted global health forums in both Europe and Asia.
