Prominent Advocate for Global Health IT Legislation, Regulation and Policy
WASHINGTON, D.C., NEW YORK, AND LOS ANGELES, October 30, 2007 –Manatt Health Solutions (MHS) the interdisciplinary policy and business advisory division of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, (Manatt) announced today that Ticia L. Gerber has joined MHS as a Senior Advisor.
Ms. Gerber is a recognized domestic and international health advocate with expertise in policy, technology and business issues surrounding the use of health information technology (health IT). Ms. Gerber will leverage her skills and experience, offering MHS clients insight into these emerging areas and guidance on successful implementation of interconnected electronic health infrastructures in the United States and across the world.

Prior to joining Manatt, Ms. Gerber served as the Vice President for International Programs and Public Policy at the eHealth Initiative (eHI) and Foundation for eHealth Initiative. While there, she spearheaded federal advocacy, public policy, education and media efforts, working closely with leaders on both sides of the aisle in the U.S. Congress and with government health agencies. Ms. Gerber also directed the Leadership in Global Health Technology (LIGHT) Initiative, facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogue and information-sharing across six continents on the development of electronically enabled healthcare and public health tools. Countries and multi-national institutions in the Pacific Rim and Europe were a particular program focus.
Before joining eHI in 2001, Ms. Gerber held policy, public relations and government affairs positions at national health plan and corporate health organizations, including Humana Inc. and the National Business Group on Health.
Ms. Gerber received her B.A. in 1989 from the American University and her Masters of Health Science and Health Policy from Johns Hopkins University in 1999.
