| Manatt Opens For Business In San Francisco
LOS ANGELES, August 13, 2007 – Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, the national law and consulting firm, opened its new San Francisco office at 111 Sutter Street today. Located in an historic 1920's building in the city's financial district, Manatt's San Francisco office will house 50 professionals, staffed with Manatt attorneys transferring from the firm's Palo Alto and Los Angeles offices, and professionals from Manatt Health Solutions (MHS), a healthcare policy and strategic business advisory group of the firm. Manatt has eight offices, nationwide.
"Today is an exciting milestone in the life of the firm, as Northern California is an important strategic growth region for Manatt,” said William T. Quicksilver, Manatt's Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner. “We are initiating the space with current Manatt attorneys and Manatt Health Solutions professionals, and have plans to grow both our Bay Area offices in San Francisco and Palo Alto."
T. Hale Boggs, Chair of Manatt's Business Development Committee and a Senior Partner in the firm's Corporate and Venture Capital practice, is focusing on partner level recruiting and client development in San Francisco, and Christopher L. Wanger, a Litigation Partner, has transferred from Palo Alto to be the new office's administrative partner.
Other attorneys who have transferred to the San Francisco office from Palo Alto are Sharon Bauman, Co-chair Employment & Labor; Donald J. Fitzgerald, Partner, Tax, Employee Benefits & Global Compensation; Craig D. Miller, Partner, Corporate & Finance; Michelle Gillette, Counsel, Intellectual Property; and associates, Tara S. Kaushik and John P. Kern. David Huard, Co-Chair of the Firm's Energy, Environment and Natural Resources practice group, transferred to the San Francisco office from Los Angeles. MHS professionals include Managing Directors Timathie Leslie and Julie Vaughan Murchinson, Senior Manager Joseph Ray, Managers Tim Kwan and Libby Sagara, and Senior Analyst Christine E. Sison and Analyst Kier Wallis.
In July, Manatt announced the addition of real estate partners, Robin Kennedy and Michael Polentz, to the Palo Alto Office.
